Caring for your Lids, handrail and finishes
Finishes instructions; How to clean
For Copper, gold, brass, antiqued finishes, black chrome and nickel
Cleaning our special Aga finishes requires special care to maintain its appearance and functionality which will avoid damaging the surface.
Materials Needed:
Soft cloths or sponges
Microfiber cloth
Mild washing up liquid
Warm water
Dusting and Initial Wipe:
· Start by dusting the surface with a soft cloth to remove any loose crumbs etc.
Mild Soap (if needed) and Water:
Mix a few drops of washing up liquid (if needed, see below) with warm water.
Dampen a soft cloth with the soapy water (see below) and very gently wipe down the surface.
Never scrub the finishes, they are soft and may damage. Gold in particular is a soft material and will not take well to heavy cleaning.
Rinse the cloth with clean water and wipe away any soap residue.
Dry the surface with a microfiber cloth to prevent water spots.
ONLY USE WASHING UP LIQUID WHEN THERE IS A LOT OF GREASE BUILD UP – USE WARM WATER AND A MICROFIBRE CLOTH FOR EVERDAY CLEANING!
DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCTS – ESPECIALLY ANYTHING ACIDIC!
FOR COPPER AND UNLACQUERED BRASS ONLY – For daily cleaning, we follow the steps above. To remove patina build up, occasional buffing with Autosol metal polish will bring the finishes back to their original glossy finish. Apply a small amount and buff well with a microfibre cloth. Please follow the manufacturers guidance for safe application and storage.
