Electrickit Classic

Electrickit Classic -

A long-standing favorite at Rural Ranges, the Electrickit is the original controllable electric conversion for Aga cookers. Manufactured by Oilwarm of Cullompton—a trusted supplier of Aga parts and the company behind Woodwarm stoves—the Electrickit has been a popular choice since its launch in 2012, rapidly gaining popularity over the last 5 years as more suppliers and users championed the product. In September 2023, the new Classic Edition was introduced, combining the simplicity and reliability of the Original model with faster than ever heat up times, a superior cooking experience and even greater flexibility and control.

EControl Series X

EControl Series X -

The eControl Series X, developed by eControl Systems—a newer yet now established name in the range cooker industry—offers features closely aligned with the Electrickit Classic, but with a modern, streamlined interface. Its larger, machined hobs provide rapid heating and efficient heat transfer across the top plate, enhancing ambient heat capacity compared to other systems. With digital displays for each oven, it allows users to precisely select temperatures, a feature some find more intuitive than the Electrickit Classic. Notably, it is also the only conversion kit offering digital displays for the 3-oven Aga.

Three preset settings control the number of elements in use, optimizing energy efficiency ~ Additional controls offer refinement of temperatures when in “Normal” or “Full” settings ~ “Eco” mode offers a very low level ambient heat for maximum efficiency when not in use ~ Hobs can be set to traditional boiling or simmering or a half heat “Eco” mode, additional controls allow the temperature to be more precisely refined ~ Optional “Instaheat” ceramic hob ~ Independent on/off hot cupboard

13 Amp

13 Amp -

Aga’s own 13Amp Aims conversion is no longer available, so at Rural Ranges (Dorset based, covering England, Wales and internationally), we offer an independent 13Amp conversion system from a trusted supplier. The 13Amp system will give you the feel and function of a traditional gas or oil Aga but on electric. 13Amp systems vary widely in quality and buying from a well reputed established supplier is therefore crucial. The shared characteristic between these systems is their reliance on the traditional Aga layout, with a single element heating the whole Aga, with resultingly high running costs. In our experience, the 13Amp conversion is the right answer in only a fairly limited number of circumstances.

Key disadvantages:

The most expensive Aga to run aside from LPG ~Parts prices relatively high ~ Slow heat up times ~ No programmability and very limited temperature control

  • Our 5-year warranty ensures that your Aga will be fully maintained by us for years to come, with options for continued service and maintenance once the warranty period ends. Unlike some systems found in new Agas, our conversions are designed without expensive-to-replace PCBs, meaning that, in the rare case of future repairs, parts costs remain reasonable.

The Electrickit is renowned for its reliability. We carry nearly all parts on our vans, and with hundreds of conversions completed over more than 7 years, we've very rarely needed to replace components. Each part functions independently, so in the unlikely event of a failure, your Aga will almost always continue to operate, ensuring you’re never without it.

The eControl Series X comes with an extended manufacturer’s warranty. While faults are uncommon, they may occur slightly more often than with Electrickit. As a newer system, its long-term durability is still being established; however, it uses components from a highly respected international parts manufacturer. As with Electrickit, all parts are independent and therefore, in the event of parts failure, the Aga will usually continue to operate.
