Electrickit Advanced Hob Options
A real highlight of Electrickit Advanced Agas is the choice of hop options available. These Agas are designed for maximum flexibility around busy modern lifestyles, and their hobs are no different. As standard, the Electrickit Advanced comes with two solid hotplates, but induction plates and radiant hobs are also available, meaning you can designed your cooker hob according to your needs.
Solid Hotplates
The Electrickit Advanced includes two independent and controllable hotplates, allowing for much faster heat up speeds and a greater precision of cooking than in traditional Agas. You can choose whether one or both hobs need to be running, and change hob heats to suit simmering, frying or boiling.
Electrickit Advanced Agas come with a choice between 1.4 and 2.2kw solid hotplates. The 1.4kw hob saves 21% of power compared with the original Electrickit. It reaches boiling plate temperature in 19 minutes and simmer plate temperature in 13 minutes.
2.2kw hobs can be installed on the left or right hand side, and reach full power in 15 minutes, with 19% power saving compared with the original Electrickit. It is possible to fit numerous pans on this hob, significantly increasing hob capacity. In addition, by doing away with the expansion ring, more heat from the hob reaches the Aga top plate. This heat is soaked up by the cast and stored, resulting in increased ambient heat and that lovely toasty top plate that we all love on our Agas.
Induction Hobs
Electrickit Advanced hobs also have the option of having a 1.6kw or a 3kw induction hob on the left hand side. These allow for faster heat up times than traditional electric hobs, with boiling times similar to that of modern kettles. These hobs have built in cooker timers, and the 1.6kw model has 5 power levels, while the 3kw has 8 power levels. They have the capability for precise, delicate cooking, allowing your hob to respond to the style of cooking needed at the time. As Induction hobs use magnetic fields to generate heat directly into your cookware, energy is not wasted, leading to lower energy costs and an improved performance at lower temperatures. We recommend the 1.6kw induction which offers a gentler cooking experience. The 3kw may feel too powerful for simmering and more nuanced cooking. Please note induction hobs are not suitable for pace maker users.
Optional induction hobs are £180.
Radiant Hobs
Radiant hobs are an additional option for the left, right or both sides of your cooker. This is a ceramic hob option which offers 24 temperature setting. It offers excellent temperature control and greater subtlety than the induction options. In addition, it is possible to use the entire hob surface, increasing the available cooking area. Like induction hobs, they heat up immediately, meaning you can start cooking without having to wait for hotplates to warm up. They have two modes; the smaller ring operates at Half Power, while both rings is Full Power, allowing for multiple pans to cook at once.
Optional radiant hobs are £275.
Upgraded Oven Options
Those who choose the upgraded high temperature hot cupboard option for their Advanced cooker have an additional two hob options. The powered warming plate option is a brilliantly helpful addition that lets you use your warming plate without having your warming oven on. Keep your kettle, plates and food warm just by touching the dedicated on/off button on your control panel. Alternatively, the twin radiant hobs faster allow greater cooking space, utilising the hob space above your warming oven for extra pans. These have fast heat up times and are controlled by two 6-levelled control knobs.
High temperature hot cupboards with an independent warming plate are £1250. With a 2-ring ceramic upgrade, they are £1750.
