Our Aga Removal Service
At Rural Ranges, we love our Agas and know that for many they are a prized presence in the home. However, there may come a time when your cooker needs to be removed, whether due to upgrading, renovating, or simply a change in household needs. Our professional Aga removal service is here to ensure that this process is handled efficiently, safely, and with the utmost care.
Why Choose Rural Ranges for Aga Removal?
1. Expertise and Experience:
With years of experience in handling Aga cookers, our team possesses the specialized skills required for the safe and effective removal of these units.
Our engineers are trained to manage the disassembly and removal process meticulously, ensuring no damage to your property or the Aga unit itself.
2. Comprehensive Service:
We provide a complete removal service, from initial contact to final disposal or relocation.
Our service includes disconnecting the cooker from electricity, or oil supplies, dismantling the unit, and carefully removing it from your premises.
Unfortunately, our removal team are not able to disconnect the gas to your Aga or disconnect and drain the Aga if it serves the hot water. Gas must be safely disconnected by a Gas Safe Certified Engineer ahead of our arrival. The Gas Safe register contains a tool to enable you to search for engineers in your area. https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/. The process of disconnecting and draining the hot water connection (if applicable) is much like removing a radiator and can be undertaken by a general plumber or heating engineer.
3. Safety First:
Safety is our top priority. We adhere to all safety standards and regulations during the removal process.
We are Asbestos aware. In the unlikely event that suspicious materials are found, we will alert you to their presence and leave the site safe. A professional Asbestos removal contractor must then be engaged to remove the materials before we can return and complete the removal. Asbestos is only present in some very early Agas and often this has been removed historically.
Our team uses the right tools and techniques to ensure a smooth and secure removal, minimizing any risks to your home or the environment.
4. Eco-Friendly Disposal:
At Rural Ranges, we are committed to environmental sustainability. If the Aga cooker is beyond repair or no longer needed, we ensure responsible disposal or recycling of its components- there is very little waste in an Aga and the vast majority of parts can be recycled or repurposed.
We work with authorized recycling centres to ensure that every part of the cooker is disposed of in a manner which minimises its environmental impact.
5. Customer-Centric Approach:
We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service. From your first inquiry to the completion of the removal, our small team is here to assist you at every step.
We work on a 2-4 week lead time for removals, with shorter notice appointments generally available during the Spring and Summer periods.

Our Process
1. Initial Contact:
Start by sending us an email with a photo of your cooker –one of the whole thing, one with lids up showing the hinges and one of the burner. We will identify whether this is a model we may be interested in purchasing or one we would charge to remove. We may request additional information about access or photos showing clearance for safe top plate removal.
2. Preparation:
We will inform you of any prior preparation required. This will include ensuring the Aga is turned off 24 hours ahead of our arrival (or 7 days in the case of 30Amp Aga removals) and disconnecting any gas or water supplies to the Aga.
We prepare the site and take necessary precautions to protect your home during the removal process. Older Agas which contain Fuller’s Earth may be messier and more complex to remove -find out more about Fuller’s Earth removals here https://www.ruralranges.com/fullers-earth.
3. Disconnection and Dismantling:
Our team will safely disconnect the electric and oil (for gas and water this must be done before we arrive) and carefully dismantle the Aga. Total Control, Dual Control and post 2021 “plug in and play” models are removed whole. If your Aga Is very old (pre 1974), we may advise removing whole to avoid disruption caused by possible Fuller’s Earth.
4. Removal and Cleanup:
The dismantled parts will be removed from your property, and we will leave the area clean and tidy. We use a dust extractor hoover to minimise dust created and pride ourselves on leaving your home exactly how we found it.
5. Responsible Disposal:
If the cooker is not being relocated or repurposed, we will ensure it is disposed of responsibly.
