Controllable Agas and their Energy Usage
Controllable Agas offer lower running costs than traditional models. Here we have provided estimates for the weekly cost based on extensive factory and ‘real life’ testing, using the October 2024 price cap of 24.5p kw/h .
These figures will of course vary depending on your usage.

Total and Dual Control hotplates should be turned on only for use, while eControl may be left on eco when preferred. eControl hobs are fully adjustable and have the option of an electric, ceramic hob with INSTAHEAT. Using flexibility of temperatures will reduce consumption.
Electrickit Running Costs
Electrickit data is produced differently and therefore unfortunately not directly comparable to other controllable models.

Want to save even more?
For greatest savings, utilise a timer for the ovens, bringing up to temperature as and when required.
For good savings, run the Aga at a low temperature of 120 - 130⁰, bringing up to 180-200⁰ for use.
For moderate savings, run the ovens at 180⁰ continually.
Always leave the hobs off, turning on only for use.
For 4 oven models, leaving the ovens at setting 4 will result in far greater savings versus setting them at 8. Alternatively, only turn on the hot cupboard for busy cooking days or when more room heat is required.

With the roasting oven set to 180c, the temperature of an Electrickit’s top oven is equivalent to that of the eControl Series X in eco. However, it is difficult to draw direct comparisons due to the difference in running systems. As you can see from the chart below, for example, when the Electrickit’s top oven is set to 180, the bottom oven will be 125. When an eControl top oven is in 180, however, it is in its eco setting and the bottom oven will only provide a low warming temperature of about 60 degrees.
